Posted on: 03/Sep/2018 4:15:41 PM
Uber Elevate has selected India among the 5 other countries to provide flying cab services. As per the company statement, in Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru where the road traffic is very high, Uber Air will come as a respite to ease congestion. The other countries where the services are likely to get launched includes Australia, Brazil, France and Japan.

The announcement about Uber Elevate was made at the Uber Elevate Asia Pacific Expo that took place in Tokyo, Japan. Following Dallas and Los Angeles, one of these selected 5 countries will be shortlisted to provide the first International Uber Air City.

Once launched, the cities having Uber Elevate will be able to get the flying taxi for hire in just a touch of a button. This will probably take about 5 years time period. To make this possible, Uber has joined hands with vehicle manufacturers, technology experts and real estate developers. Uber Elevate is also discussing with stakeholders of many cities in the selected countries. There are various factors based on which the service will become possible – like market size, local commitment, other conditions, etc. After Dallas and Los Angeles, regarding the launch of next service, an announcement is expected in another 6 months.

Furthermore, Uber has got ideas to provide Uber Eats services using drone delivery system in Asia Pacific regions – sounds interesting, uh?
