Jaya says Centre did not care about Cauvery issue

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. J. Jayalalitha said that by the order passed by the Supreme Court, the state has earned its rights over the Cauvery.
Ms. Jayalalitha who was at a mass marriage function to celebrate her birthday said that the Centre was quiet when Karnataka did not heed requests and so the Supreme Court was approached. ‘The Centre remained silent for six years by not notifying the final award and the (then) DMK government did not initiate any action for selfish reasons. This is a victory to our persistence and determination’, she said.
