Chennai Metro starts call cab services

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) introduces cab services for the commuters traveling within the 3 km range of Chennai metro stations. Through these affordable cab services commuters can reach the nearby metro stations easily. CMRL officials announced the official customer care number 18604251515 for commuters residing within three kilometer radius of Chennai metro stations.

Five of the total metro stations, Anna Nagar East, AG-DMS, Vadapazhani, Alandur and Koyambedu are initially rolled out for the cab services. For instance if a person wants to reach Vadapazhani Murugan temple or Saligramam, he or she can call the cab services from Vadapazhani metro station.

CMRL and the associated vendor services for the metro cab fixed the charge as Rs 15 per ride anywhere around 3 km radius of the metro stations. After observing and verifying the initial phase of the cab facility the process of incorporating the services in all the metro stations will be done by metro authorities.

Commuters are also expecting a mobile App based cab services from CMRL instead of phone call request. With the confined location, distance and metro stations people can easily track drivers through the app based cab services. CMRL officials are considering the expectations and will probably plan something on it.

The cab and share auto services in the metro stations are introduced for the last mile connectivity for the commuters. Ashok Nagar, Alandur, Ekkatuthangal, Guindy, Koyambedu, St. Thomas Mount and Thirumangalam stations have share auto services connecting the locality with the metro points.
