Islamic Festival of Bakrid to be celebrated on 22nd August

The Chief Gaji of the State Government of Tamil Nadu has announced that the Islamic festival will be celebrated on 22nd August.
Earlier, it had been indicated on the calendar that Bakrid will be celebrated on 22nd August. In this regard, the state government chief Gaji had released an announcement yesterday – The Tulhaj’ crescent (half-moon) was spotted in Tamil Nadu on 12th August. So, Bakrid will be celebrated on 22nd August.
Meanwhile, as the Tulhaj crescent was spotted one day later, the New Delhi Jama Masjid had announced that Bakrid has to be celebrated on 23rd August. So, a holiday has been declared on account of Bakrid on 23rd August exclusively for the central and state government offices in Delhi alone.
