Bus overturns in Salem district

A speeding bus operating between Eriyur and Mecheri in Salem district overturned killing 29 persons on Monday. It has been reported that the dead include 17 women.
The bus driver, who lost control, has been arrested and the injured have been admitted to Mettur, Salem and Mecheri Government hospitals.
