Hi-tech ambulances for infant care

The National Rural Health Mission and the Tamil Nadu State Health Department displayed an ambulance equipped with stabilization unit that will consist of a ventilator, multifunction monitor and other necessary equipment available in an ICU.
The ambulances will cater to infants in emergency. There are curently6 ambulances running in Tamil Nadu and 56 more are expeted.
Says Ms. Anuradha Gupta, Union Health Secretary, ‘We have developed a scorecard system to evaluate the progress by states on nearly 30 parameters including child mortality, measles, and diarrhea. Based on these parameters each state can identify the key parameters in which they have to improve and
can even come up with a quarterly reports.’
