Environment Clearance of Omandurar Estate not satisfied

The environmental clearance given to the Omandurar estate building by the State Environmental Impact Assessment Authority has come under questioning by the Southern Bench of the National Green Tribunal.
The Tribunal has said that no alteration or modification of the structure can be made until the appeal has been satisfied.
It can be recalled that the DMK Government had built up the Estate to house the new State Secretariart, whereas the ruling AIADMK wants to convert it into a multi speciality hospital.
