Water to be released from Mettur Dam

The Supreme Court has directed the Tamil Nadu Government to release 2tmc of water from Mettur Dam. It also directed Karnataka to release Cauvery river water of the same amount to Tamil Nadu.
The directive comes in the wake of dry weather that will affect samba crops. It has been reported that the dam will be open and water released for 3 continuous days.
