Campus placements in the engineering colleges in TN are making huge noises now

Getting well placed in top organizations after completing their engineering course is a dream for all the students. The latest news is the placement season has kicked off for 2019 and handful of students belonging to top engineering colleges in TN were offered 35% more in the pay packages from the dream and super dream companies. It is sensational to note that eight students belonging to VIT or Vellore Institute of Technology have been offered Rs 39 lakh each by the highly popular IT Company Microsoft and this is the highest ever offered to any student in the college.
About 2 lakh engineering graduates come out every year in TN. Start-up companies as well as product companies get into the process of recruiting engineers early. In the month of August IT services companies begin their recruitment process. The dream and super dream companies pay more than Rs 7 lakh per annum and are tremendous. It is said that some colleges bracket dream companies in the Rs4lakh plus category.
Some top companies who made their presence felt in VIT this year are Microsoft, PayPal, DE Shaw etc. As many as 16 students from VIT got super dream offers with pay ranging from Rs 21 lakhs to Rs 39 lakhs.
As per Mr. Samuel Rajkumar, director of placement, VIT, the campus placement season has kicked off well. He later spoke about how VIT is not dependent on IT services. Last year Dell and Bank of America took large number of students from VIT and it is expected that this would again repeat in this season too. One important point is Seattle based Amazon that made its presence felt greatly hasn’t visited the campuses till now. In the last year the colleges achieved half of their targets because the bulk recruiters preferred off campus hiring. Off campus recruitments resulted in one third of all hiring last year. IT giant Cognizant is grabbing many eyeballs now as it is hiring students off campus from 2018 batch.
SASTRA University is a famous educational institution and it is now revealed that companies such as Paypal and Zoho have made as many as 24 offers from Rs 15 lakh per annum to Rs 21.5 lakh per annum to its students. Mr. Vaidhya Subramanian, dean of planning and development, SASTRA University, spoke about how everyday till the month end many companies came for recruiting the students.
It is expected that as many as 200 students from SASTRA University would get placed before the bulk recruiters come in. This was also confirmed by Mr. Vaidhya Subramanian.
As many as 30 offers have been made by 5 companies in Rajalakshmi Engineering College and these include Zoho, Doodle Blue etc. This Rajalakshmi Engineering College is having hopes on specialized hiring requirements of the companies.
