Counselling for admission to B. E. 2nd year starts today (30th June)

89000 Seats have been allotted for admission directly to the 2nd year of the engineering courses (B. E. or B. Tech.).
For the candidates who have completed polytechnic diploma courses or B.SC. Courses, 20% seats are allotted for direct admission to the 2nd year of the engineering courses in the colleges throughout Tamil Nadu.
So far, 89000 seats have been allotted by 514 engineering colleges. However, only 11164 candidates have applied. Thus, there are bright prospects of all the applicants getting direct admissions to the 2nd year of the B. E. or B. Tech. courses.
The counselling for this admission commences today (Saturday, 30th June). The counselling for candidates belonging to categories of the differently-abled, sports specialists, and ex-military personnel is scheduled from 8.00 AM
Following this, the counselling for the candidates who have applied for the faculties of leather and printing is scheduled. The counselling for the candidates who have chosen Chemical Engineering is scheduled from 1.30 PM to 3.00 PM.
The counselling for the candidates who had applied for textile technology is scheduled from 3.00 PM to 4.30 PM.
The coordinator for the direct admission to the 2nd year engineering courses, Ganesan, informed the candidates can participate in the counselling on the basis of the cut-off marks. Special arrangements for buses have been organized.
