Prospects of heavy rain in North Tamil Nadu

The director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre, S. Balachandran, informed that there are strong prospects of heavy rains in a few places in North Tamil Nadu in the next 24 hours.
Southwest Monsoon Seasonal winds are blowing strongly in the regions of the South Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. There is cyclonic format stabilizing over the central Bay of Bengal region. Further, it is prevailing in the zone where the winds from East and the West cross each other over the region of South Andhra.
Because of this, it has rained in several places in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Over the next 24 hours, there are prospects of medium rain in a few places both in the northern Tamil Nadu and Puducherry as well as Southern Tamil Nadu. There are prospects of heavy rain in the northern Tamil Nadu.
Chennai Metro City and its suburban areas will remain cloudy. There are prospects of medium rain in a few places. The rain may persist for 2 days.
