Kudankulam plant commercial operation delayed further

With the 500-day long protest against the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project, there has been immense delay in commercial operation from the plant. Built with Russian reactors, the plant has not kept to several timelines. The first commercial operation of 1000 MW was scheduled to be initiated in February may take longer.
Agitations and protests headed by the People�s Movement Against Nuclear Energy have cited safety concerns, but Tamil Nadu�s power situation is created unrest across the State.
