TamilNadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha Ordered to 1000 Canteen opened for poor labours in Chennai Corporation.
According to an official release here today, in the first phase, 200 canteens will be opened in each of the wards of Chennai Corporation
A proposal to procure over 500 metric tonnes of rice from Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation at a subsidised rate of Rs 1 per kg has been sanction by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
The canteens will sell an Idly at Rs 1, Sambar rice at Rs 5 and Curd rice at Rs 3, the release said. A committee headed by the Corporation Welfare Officer will be constituted to supervise the operations of these canteens.
