After all the harmful effects of summer, monsoon brings smile and respite for the people all over! Thanks to the rain god for the relief you bring. However, during monsoon, it is time to face all those disgusting challenges of facing puddles on roads. There are wet muds and unexpected downpours all of which are harsh on our footwear.

Listed below are some hacks that can help you keep your footwear safe and strong without getting worn out

Polish
Right after stepping out of the school days, we tend to forget the entire concept of boot polish. With shoe polishing, you don’t just look as a responsible and well-dressed person, but also help your footwear stay safe without accumulating unwanted moisture.

Keep it clean
Your footwear should not contain a lot of mud content every time you walk in the rain. The mud deposits on the shoe may turn hard once it dries up, and this may harm your shoes. So, make it a practice to brush and clean out the shoe after the mud turns dry.

Take care of inner part
Often times, we forget to take care of the inner lining of the shoe and be biased, caring only for the outer part. Remember that the inner walls and sole of shoes tend to decay easily. There is however a simple trick to keep it safe. Place about 2 to 3 paper napkins in the inner part of the shoe. Leave it as it is for a few minutes and dust some talcum powder on it so that the entire moisture content would get absorbed.

It is important to note that the moisture content in the inner part will serve as the primary cause to infections and fungal growth.

Invest
Are you one of those who are fond of shoes? If yes, you need to be vigilant about keeping it protected during rainy days. Make use of galoshes above the footwear to keep it protected from moisture deposit.

Store safe
Do not place the shoe in shoe rack right after a rainy journey if it you want it last for long. Place the shoe under the ceiling fan and allow it to get dry. In case of sports shoes, it will be more likely to absorb moisture. So, it is important to dry them out without fail.

Restore old shoes
In spite of buying new shoes, many of us would keep the old ones safe. So, you will have different options to choose from. This will help you in protecting the new shoe from the monsoon effects.
