Prospects of rain in Tamil Nadu today

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of rain in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to the thermal convection.
An official explained that the low-pressure zone which had stabilised over the Bay of Bengal drifted to the North and crossed the Orissa coast yesterday evening (Friday, 20th October). The intensity of the low-pressure zone will reduce gradually. Because of this, the humid air over the coastal Tamil Nadu has also drifted towards Odisha reducing the prospects of rain in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
However, due to the formation of thermal convection, there are prospects of rain in the next 24 hours in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Chennai will remain partly cloudy. There may be rains with thunder in a few places in the city.
