Tamilnadu gets Relief by June 2013 from Electricity Problem

Several power projectas are being ongoing in several areas of the Tamilnadu state .Kudamkulam one of the major nuclear power plant situated in tirunelveli district.the projects first reactor was filled with uranium fuel and is ready to be activated.Electricity Minister Natham R.Viswanthan on Wednesday said that the electricity problem will be come to an end by June next year.

The estimated amount of power to be got from Kudamkulam is 4,500 MW  by next year. Commissioning of the thermal power projects at Vallur, North Chennai and Mettur and Kudamkulam Nuclear Power Plant besides through purchasing of power from private generators. addressing at the Energy – 2012: Vision 2023 “New Era of Sustainable Energy Management” organized by FCCI.

He added that scarcity & demand of electricity is going up to 7 to 8 % annualy no new project to finalize the demands. Then he Reassured the private sectors  that grid connected solar power producers in the state can be confident of timely tariff payments and evacuation. Energy secretary Ramesh Kumar Khanna said that solar energy policy not only supported generation but would also drive demand as the government had mandated six per cent solar purchase obligations till the date of 2yrs from 2012.
