10 cities in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry recorded a temperature of over 100 Degrees Fahrenheit, which is somewhat higher than normal for this season.
The Chennai Meteorological Centre officials explained that this increase in temperature was due to the late start of sea breeze blow and somewhat less gathering of clouds.
It has been raining off and on in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The sky remained cloudy. Because of this, there was a good decrease in temperature and the weather was pleasant and cool.
In this situation, there has been a sudden change � over the last 2 days, the intensity of heat has been higher than usual in the coastal and all other areas as well.
The Chennai Meteorological Centre officials explained that usually, the sea breeze sets in by 11 AM and blows towards the shores. Due to this, the intensity of heat would be lesser. However, yesterday, the land breeze from the west was blowing for a considerable time. The sea breeze set in only by 4.30 PM.
Because of there was a rise in the temperature in the coastal cities by 3 to 4 Degrees Celsius. As the cloud gathering was less in the interior areas of the state, the intensity of heat became higher.
Due to the recent formation of a thermal convection in the atmosphere, there are prospects of rain with thunder in the next 24 hours in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
Chennai Metro city will remain cloudy. It may rain or rain with thunder in the evening/night.
