Online registration for admission to engineering courses concluded

There are 571 engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. There are around 2 Lakhs seats available for admission. The admissions for these seats are given through a general counselling session conducted by Anna University.
The online application process for admission to the engineering courses commenced on 1st May this year. The last date for online application was set as 31st May.
Accordingly, the last date got over yesterday (Wednesday, 31st May). The copies of the filled applications sent online must be submitted to Anna University before 3rd June either by post or in person.
Over 1.50 Lakhs candidates have applied online. With 2 Lakhs seats being available, and only 1.5 Lakhs applications received, it is expected that a considerable number of seats may not get filled.
The results of the CBSE +2 examinations were released rather very late � only on last Sunday. As the number of days before the deadline date was very limited, it was widely expected that an extension will be announced for the revised date of deadline.
However, there was no announcement regarding this yesterday. The counselling for admission is scheduled to commence on 27th June.
