NISSAN INDIA SEPTEMBER 2012 SALES JUMP BY 64.24 %

Nissan Motor India Private Ltd (NMIPL) registered domestic sales of 3574 for September 2012, 2176 units up compared to last year.  
 
Nissan’s Chennai-built products – the Sunny sedan and Micra compact hatchback continued their strong performance registering cumulative sales of 3567 in September.
 
While Nissan’s third-home grown model, the all-new multi-utility Evalia, also made a brisk start following its sales launch just few days ago, already registering 160 bookings.

The Teana luxury sedan, X-Trail SUV and cult sports car 370Z comprised the remaining sales of what was yet another successful sales month for Nissan in India.
 
Commenting on the performance, Mr. Ishida Takayuki, NMIPL Managing Director said, “We are continuing to witness an increasing demand for Sunny and Micra with both models now firmly positioned within their respective segments. With the launch of Evalia we are delivering on our commitment to expand our line-up in India and offer our customers even greater choice.  Our strengthening model range, supported by a robust customer value proposition, means I am confident Nissan will enjoy another highly successful year in India.”

Evalia has many class-leading features and its unrivaled fuel efficiency is proving especially popular in the market.”
 
The all new Nissan Evalia is powered by the globally-proven K9K straight-4 turbocharged diesel from Renault Nissan’s engine family, which can churn out 85 PS of power @ 3750 rpm and a maximum torque of 200 Nm @ 2000 rpm. With a smooth-shifting five speed manual transmission, the Evalia delivers a fuel efficiency of 19.3 kmpl of diesel (ARAI certified), around 50% better than its nearest class rival.
