CMRL Tunnelling work commences at Washermanpet Metro Station

The Chennai Metro Rail Project Tunnelling work commenced at Washermanpet metro station site today (01.10.2012) by breaking the Diaphragm wall.
Presently the package UAA01 is done by TransTonnelstroy-Afcons as joint venture
The tunnelling operations commenced on 01/10/2012 from Washermanpet station to Chennai Central The Tunnelling distance between Washermanpet to Chennai Central is 1349.9 meters.
The construction site is maintained with international safety standards for both tunnelling as well as station construction.
