Preliminary examinations - TNPSC Group 1 services to be held tomorrow

In order to fill up the 85 vacancies in various departments including the post of Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Assistant Commissioner (C.T.), District Registrar, District Employment Officer and District Officer (Fire and Rescue Service) the TNPSC will be conducting the preliminary examinations - Group 1 services tomorrow.
Over 2 Lakhs graduates will be writing this examination which is to be held in various centres throughout Tamil Nadu. The examination will be held between 10 am and 1 pm. The paper which is for 300 marks will have 200 questions in the general knowledge section, aptitude and Mental Ability sections. Those of who pass the preliminary examinations will be eligible for the main examinations.
The number of applicants to be admitted to the Main Written Examination will be 50 times the number of applicants to be recruited.All the candidates who get the same cut off marks are eligible for main examinations. Hence this number may increase. Those who have passed the main examinations will be called for the interview.
After the completion of oral test, the written examination marks are obtained from the Controller of Examinations and the consolidated mark list is prepared by adding the marks obtained in the written Examination and oral test. The consolidated mark list is being published in the Commission’s website
