Super star Rajnikanth, Kaviperarusu Vairamuthu and many key personalities are honoring leading Tamil writer S.Ramakrishnan for being conferred a prestigious Iyal literary award, on February 2, 2012, Thursday at Kamarajar Arangam, 292, Anna Salai, Teynampet, Chennai, 6.00 pm.
Presented by Tamil Literary Garden of Toronto, Canada, the award for lifetime achievement honors 25 years of full time literary dedication of S.Ramakrishnan. The award, given for the year 2011, is going to be presented later this year. The felicitation event organized by Uyirmmai publication honors the prolific writer who had also recently won Tagore award, instituted by Sahitya Akademy and Samsung Corporation, for his noted novel Yamam.
S.Ramakrishnan has written and published five novels, ten collections of short stories, 24 collections of articles, four books for children, three books of translation and nine plays in his prolific career.
He has worked as screenplay and dialogue writer for more than 10 movies including Baba, Sandaikozhi, Avan Ivan.
Uyirmmai publisher, Poet Manushya Puthiran delivers the inaugural address at the event.
