University of Madras postpones its convocation

Registrar David P. Jawahar of The University of Madras announced on Tuesday that it had postponed its 159th convocation scheduled for December 1 due to administrative reasons. Vice-Chancellor R. Thandavan of the University of Madras tenure came to an end on 17th January. Since a vice chancellor was not appointed for a long time, convenor committee was formed to take care of the university�s administration.
In the absence of a vice chancellor it was decided to hold the University of Madras�s 159th convocation on 1st December but the syndicate in the recent meeting opposed the holding of convocation in the absence of a vice chancellor.
In view of the foregoing Registrar David P. Jawahar of The University of Madras announced on Tuesday that it had postponed its 159th convocation scheduled for December 1 due to administrative reasons.
