Kaspersky Lab has analyzed over 31 million Wi-Fi hotspots across the world and discovered that fact that nearly 28 percent of them is unsafe and unsecured and a risk to personal data of users. In other words, data shared over such unsecured internet including passwords, messages, documents and other files are prone to get intercepted and used by attackers.

About 25 percent of the world’s Wi-Fi networks do not have encryption or any password protection, says Kaspersky Security Network. The information shared over such internet will be open and any third party can have access to it. At the same time, 3 percent of the other hotspots make use of Wired Equivalent Privacy for encrypting data.
