Smartphone demand in India soars

According to the market research firm International Data Corporation (IDC), over 32 million smartphones have been sold in the Indian market. Lenovo and its subsidiary company Motorola have together come straight to the second place in the third quarter of smartphone shipments in India. Between July and September, Lenovo has manufactured large number of smartphones and had shipped it to India. Online share of smartphone Lenovo increased to 31 percent. 
 
Karthik J, Senior Market Analyst (Client Devices) IDC India said:  Last year 2 Crores 91 lakhs smartphones were sold. Now 3 Crores phones have been sold breaking the previous record. Lenovo and its subsidiary company Motorola have grown and have done good business then last year. 
 
Samsung remains on top with 23 per cent share. Lenovo Group is now in second place with 9.6 per cent share of smartphones. Micromax is in third place with 7.5 percent share. Xiaomi stormed into the fourth position with a 7.4 percent market share. Moreover, Reliance Jio smartphone grabbed 7 percent market share.
