Government extends toll exemption on national highways till November 24

The Central Government had announced that that toll would be suspended till November 24 midnight for all National Highways. Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes were rendered defunct by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Because of this there was shortage of changes. People faced lots of hardship in exchanging 500 and 1000 notes at the toll gates.
Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in a statement has announced: For smooth traffic movement across all National Highways, toll collection has now been suspended till mid-night of November 24. The losses incurred by this will be borne by the government.
