Alternate documents as proof of identity to vote: EC

The legislative assembly election for the 3 constituencies in Tamil Nadu State, Thanjavur, Aravakurichi, and Thiruparankundram is scheduled tomorrow (Saturday, 19th November).
The voting starts by 7.00 AM and closes by 5.00 PM.The list of voters containing the names and photographs of the voters will be handed over to the polling officers today (Friday, 18th November).
Only those who are included in this list will be allowed to vote.For the individuals whose name is in the voters list but do not have voter’s ID card, they can show any of the following documents,
Passport, driving licence, photographed identity cards given by central or state governments, Passbook saving accounts with photograph in the bank or Post Office and the smart card issued by the Chief Registrar of the national census council, the job guarantee card given by the National Rural Job guarantee card, Medical Insurance card given by the ministry of the labour welfare, Pension proof document with photo, voters photographed ID given by the National Election Commission and the official ID card given to the members of the parliament or the state legislative assemblies and vote.
