Non-functional ATM centres disappoint customers

Posted on: 11/Nov/2016 11:10:37 AM
In a time when people believed their troubles and hassles will get solved today, as all ATMs will shed the new Rs 500 and Rs 2000 notes, there seems to be disappointments at most places the reason being ATM centres shut down. These centres are either shut down or do not have cash today.

The government had promised to restore ATM transactions from Friday, today, however banks have failed to do so and that has left all customers irksome frustrated.

One of the IT employees said he had visited over twenty ATMs in one hour this morning, and not even one ATM is functional. A survey conducted on ATMS also reveals the same.

While the government has limited ATM withdrawal to Rs 10,000 per day and Rs 20,000 a week, a few banks have set their own thresholds.

According to SMS circulated to all its customers, ICICI bank states that the maximum daily withdrawal limit is Rs 2000 at ATMs. If the ATM has no cash, please visit our nearest bank branch, requests ICICI.

At the same time, ATM centres have also raised boards indicating the ‘no cash’ state, and customers move on to other ATMs with resentment.
