Features of new Rs.500 notes

Here is the list of all features of the new Rs.500 notes from the RBI.
  • See through register with 2000 as denominational numeral 
  • It has a latent image of denominational number 500
  • There is denominational numeral present in Devnagari
  • There are changes in Mahatma Gandhi portrait in terms of its orientation and relative position
  • There is windowed security thread that can get its color changed from green to blue when titled 
  • Towards the right side of the note, there is guarantee clause, signature of the governor and promise clause and emblem of RBI
  • There are watermarks of portrait and electrotype
  • There is number panel along with numerals expanding from small to big size at the right bottom side 
  • The denomination is present in numerals along with rupee symbol. This will change color from green to blue at the right bottom
  • The right side has Ashoka pillar emblem  
Features for the visually impaired 
  • For the visually impaired, there is raised printing or intaglio of Mahatma Gandhi portrait and the Ashoka pillar emblem 
  • The right side of the note has a circle with raised print of Rs 500 
  • The left and right sides have raised prints of five bleed lines  
Backside of the note 
  • There is year of printing seen at the left side
  • The Swachh Bharat logo is seen with the slogan
  • The language panel is present in the centre 
  • The image of Red Fort, an Indian heritage along with Indian flag is seen
  • There is the denomination of the note in Devanagari at the right
