Posted on: 07/Nov/2016 3:58:32 PM
The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are no possibilities for heavy rains in the next 4 days as the low depression cyclonic format has moved away towards Bangladesh.

The Northeast Monsoon rainy season commenced in Tamil Nadu on 30th October.

The coastal districts and southern districts remain cloudy. There have been heavy rains in many places in the southern districts of Tamil Nadu.

However, as regards Chennai Metro City, it has been experiencing scorching sunny weather over the last 2 days without much rain.

The Director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre, Mr. S. Balachandran explained:

The cyclonic format which had formed over the central-west region over the Bay of Bengal has moved towards Bangladesh. Because of this, there were no heavy rains as expected in Chennai.

There are no prospects for heavy rain in the next 4 days.

However, there may be slight drizzles in the evenings, nights, or early mornings. There may be a slight rise in the heat. Still, due to the cyclonic low depression formed over the South-east part over the Bay of Bengal, the rains continued in the southern districts of Tamil Nadu.
