Posted on: 26/Oct/2016 1:09:29 PM
Employees of the Tamil Nadu government who were preparing to celebrate the Deepavali festival on 29th are deeply disappointed because the government has hurriedly withdrew its order for early disbursement of their salaries on Oct 28 .

Additional Chief Secretary to Government Thiru K Shanmugam while speaking about this said: TN Government Officials Union had requested the government to pay the salary in advance in order to celebrate Deepavali on 29th. Examining this request, the government passed orders to the concerned departments to pay the salary on 28th.

Now it has been announced that the salary to the employees will be paid on 31st since the salary is credited on the last working day of the month

Accordingly, the treasury and accounts department was asked to disburse the hefty sum amounting to over Rs. 4,000 crore. But the treasury and accounts department received the communication from the government stating not to implement the Government Order No. 277 dated Oct. 25 which was in respect of payment of salary on Oct 28.
