NE monsoon to set after Diwali, low pressure moves northwards

Posted on: 20/Oct/2016 10:18:51 AM
Its so close yet so far, the Low Pressure is going to move far far away from Tamil Nadu coast as westerlies are still present and the wind pattern is still to be changed to easterlies. The Low Pressure will intensify into Depression too. But No impact to Tamil Nadu. Some models show it curving back to Odisha/North AP coast which needs to be seen later.
South TN and delta to get rains for next few days not because of Low Pressure Area.

There will be rains in south TN and delta regions of Thiruvarur and Nagapattinam in the coming days. But its no way connected to the Low Pressure Area. Atlast the fag end of delta is expected some rains. Chennai will be dry for entire week. Dont even dream about rains.

North East Monsoon Onset

Only after Diwali the onset of monsoon is likely. This is going to be one of the most delayed onset in recent years.
