Hindi teachers may lose their jobs in CBSE schools in Tamil Nadu

Posted on: 28/Sep/2016 12:15:23 PM
In Tamil Nadu, CBSE has made Tamil language compulsory in their schools and because of this there is danger of Hindi teachers losing their jobs.

A Government Order of September 18 has brought all schools under the purview of the Tamil Nadu Tamil Learning Act, 2006. In accordance with this all the CBSE and ICSE schools will come under the purview of the act. Because of this, the school teachers who were teaching languages like Hindi, Telugu and Sanskrit will be losing their jobs.

Some of the Hindi teachers while speaking about this said: Though majority of the CBSE schools were teaching in English medium, their first language was Hindi. Now since the Tamil Nadu Tamil Learning Act, 2006 is in vogue, Tamil has become the first language. English is being taught as second language. Hindi language which was the first language has now become third language and option subject. In many schools, option language subjects are French, German, Telugu, Sanskrit and Arabic. In these schools Hindi has been eradicated and Hindi teachers are being sent out. Hence the central government should bring new ordinance to help the Hindi teachers.
