The central External Affairs Minister Ms.Sushma Swaraj has informed that if the Indians, struggling without jobs in Saudi, return to India before 25th September, they would be flown free on their return trip.

Mainly due to the steep fall in the prices of crude oil in the international market, Saudi Arabia’s economy has been severely affected. So, the country had to take some stringent measures for reducing expenses.

With cost-cutting measures by the government being implemented, thousands of Indian workers lost their jobs. In many cases, they are still to get the wages for work already done. So, these Indians had decided to stay there n Saudi until their pending salaries are paid and settled.

However, it is suspected that the situation will worsen each passing day.

The central government prefers that these workers should return to India immediately.

The Minister of State for External Affairs, Mr. V. K. Singh visited Saudi Arabia in this regard and returned. Boarding and lodging arrangements were made by the central government for these workers.

In this scenario, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has informed that the Saudi Arabian government has been holding discussions with the companies which have not settled the dues for the Indian workers. Once this is solved, the Indian workers will be paid their dues.

The central government has made arrangements for the workers who are returning to India before 25th September for free air travel. Indians who returning after this date will have to make their own arrangements.
