TNPSC Group 2 services examination held

9,860 candidates attended the TNPSC Group 2 services main examination. 20 percent of the candidates did not turn up for the examination.
Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has been entrusted with the work of the filling up the vacancies of the various government departments. There were 1241 vacancies under Group 2 services including Deputy Commercial Tax Officer Sub Registrar, Probation officer, Assistant Inspector of Labour, Junior Employment officer, Special Assistant in DVAC, Special Assistant in IB, Assistant Section officer,, Assistant Inspector, Audit Inspector and other supervisory posts. TNPSC issued notifications for the said posts during the month of April 2015. The preliminary examinations were held in July. 4,78,782 candidates attended the examination. The results were announced during the month of May. 12,337 candidates passed the examination. Yesterday, the mains examination was conducted in Chennai, Chidambaram, Salem Trichy, Kovai, Thanjavur, Madurai and Tirunelveli in 41 examination centres. The examination was held between 10 am and 1 pm. Many of the women graduates came with the babies.
