The temperature will be higher by 3 degrees than usual till 23rd August

There was more than the usual rainfall in the Northeast monsoon last year. As a result, there was an increase in the groundwater table . Currently, southeast monsoon season is in progress. However, there has been no appreciable rains in any district over the last 2 weeks.

It is also observed that over the last few days, there has been a scorching sun just like the summer peak season in many districts in the state. 

In this scenario, the Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that the temperature will be higher by 3 degrees than the average till 23rd August in Tamil Nadu.

The director of Chennai Meteorological Centre, Mr. S. Balachandran briefed on this regard that it has been hotter than usual in the last few days in Tamil Nadu. The temperature will continue to be high till 23rd August. The maximum temperature will be higher by 3 degrees compared to the average. The weather forecast for 24th will be announced later.
