IRCTC in Fortune Next 500 List

IRCTC (Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation) has secured a place in the Fortune Next 500 List for the 2nd consecutive year. IRCTC has a place in the list of the next richest 500 Indian companies (after the first 500 richest Indian companies) released by Fortune.
IRCTC is a public sector company under the Ministry of Railways. IRCTC was in the 328th place in the year 2015. It has advanced to the 199th place in the list for the year 2016.
The awards are given to felicitate the companies for their outstanding performance in the last year. This function to felicitate the Fortune Nest 500 was conducted recently.
The Central Minister for National Highways and Shipping, Mr. Nitin Gadkari delivered a special address. The Chief Minister of Jharkhand state, Mr. Raghubir Das participated as a special guest.
IRCTC did a net business worth Rs. 1141 Crores during the financial year 2014-15.
IRCTC did a business worth Rs. 1503 Crores in the financial year 2015-16.
IRCTC is one of the Mini Ratna companies in the public sector undertakings. It is worth mentioning that IRCTC bagged an award Scope Corporate Communication Excellence Award 2016 for making the best use of the latest communication technology.
