The central government decision: to accept the transaction charges on debit/credit cards

The central government has been encouraging the cashless financial transactions. Considering this, the Finance Ministry has announced that if the payments to the government are made in electronic mode, it will bear the MTR.
In a related circular, the Ministry of Fiance has informed that in order to encourage cashless financial transactions, the government departments need to initiate action on absorbing the MTR on electronic payments made through credit/debit cards.The guidelines on refund of these transactions will be released in future.
As it is electronic financial transactions, payments made through internet will also come under this.
