Polling in Thanjavur, Aravakurichi and Tirupparankundram likely in October

Tamil Nadu State Assembly elections were held on 16th May. Polling in Thanjavur and Aravakurichi was put on hold by the Election Commission following allegations of large scale irregularities. While the death of AIADMK MLA S M Seenivel, who was elected from Tirupparankundram, prompted by-election in the temple town. There are three constituencies vacant in Tamil Nadu. As far as election is concerned the elections for the vacant seat should be conducted within 6 months. As per this norm the election to three constituencies should be held within November. There will be North East Monsoon during the month of November. Hence it is expected that the assembly elections to these constituencies will be held during the month of October.
