Senior I-T official arrested in Chennai

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday arrested P Kishore, managing director of Chennai-based tech-based education provider Everonn Education, on charges of bribing an Income Tax official with Rs 50 lakh.
The sleuths nabbed additional income tax commissioner Andasu Ravindar (45), an IRS of 1991 batch, along with Kishore, managing director of Everonn Educational Ltd, Perungudi, and an auditor Uttam Chand Bora while Ravindar was allegedly trying to transport the bribe money to a safe location from his residence, CBI officials said
.�The agency also carried out search operations at Mumbai, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Bangalore and Chennai resulting in a seizure of Rs 48 lakh from Bohra`s`s residence and Rs 10 lakh from other places. The bribe amount of Rs 50 lakh and gold jewellery weighing 1.8 kg were seized from the residence of the Additional Commissioner,� CBI spokesperson Dharini Mishra said.
