Rainfall expected today in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry

The Meteorological Centre has mentioned that there will be convective rainfall in one or two places of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
The south west monsoon rains have intensified in Karnataka and Andhra states. Because of this, there are heavy rains in Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra and Telangana states.
As far as Tamil Nadu, there is only convective rainfall.
An official of Regional Meteorological Centre has mentioned: The low pressure area over west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts persists. There is no warning for Tamil Nadu because of this. In spite of this, there will be rains in one or two places of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to convection. As far as Chennai is concerned the sky will be cloudy. During the night there will be rains or thundershowers.
