Mild showers expected today in Chennai

The scorching heat has come down due to frequent rains in Tamil Nadu. Yesterday evening rains, cooled Chennai further. The minimum temperature dropped on Sunday to 24.5 degrees Celsius from 26.5 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
Chennai Meteorological Centre has mentioned that rainfall on Sunday was caused due to low pressure areas over western Bay of Bengal. The spell should recede by Tuesday.
