Prices of tomatoes come down

Since there is increase in the supply of tomatoes, the prices have come down.
Tomatoes are being sold for Rs 35 per kg at the Koyambedu wholesale vegetable market in Chennai, giving a sigh of relief to people from middle income and low income categories
M Thiyagarajan, president of tomato traders association in the market said: The prices have come down in a steep way. This is because the inflow of tomato has increased. But we don`t see any further dip in rates for the next few days. Lorries from other states have only arrived at Koyambedu in large numbers. Tomato loads from districts in Tamil Nadu are yet to resume normalcy. Rates will go down further only if the local stock comes.
