Seats to be increased in arts and science colleges

Registrar Pa David Jawahar of University of Madras has mentioned that 600 seats have been increased in the private and government arts and science colleges which are affiliated to the University.
Now the interests to pursue engineering courses are being lesser day by day amongst the students. Students are now showing keen interest in arts and science courses. Because of this majority of students are applying for arts and science courses. Since the seats are less, students who score high marks are not able to get admissions.
In view of the foregoing, University of Madras has decided to increase the seats in the private and government arts and science colleges which are affiliated to the University. It has been mentioned that there will be increase by 600 seats.
