Six new Indian Institutes of Technology to be set up

The Central Government has approved the setting up of six new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in six places including Palakkad and Thirupathi.
During the Union Cabinet meeting which was held in Delhi, this approval was given. Accordingly the new IITs will be set up in Tirupati, Palakkad, Dharwar, Bhilai, Goa and Jammu while ISM Dhanbad will also be upgraded to an IIT.
