Posted on: 25/May/2016 1:57:55 PM
There are 583 engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. Out of this, 553 are private self-financing colleges. In order to determine the fee structure of these colleges a committee called Justice N V Balasubramanian Committee is functioning.

The fee structure was last determined during the year 2012. As per this fee structure, private colleges can collect Rs  40,00 for non-accredited B.E, B.Tech, B.Arch courses, Rs 45,000 for accredited engineering courses from the students who join under government quota. The fee for management-quota seats in private engineering colleges was fixed at 70,000. Last year this free structure was supposed to be revised but it was not revised. Now the students and parents are very eager to know that whether there will be any fee revision this year.

When asked a higher official of Technical Education Department about this, he said, There will be no revision of fees this year. The same fee structure will be collected.
