No refund for mobile or laptop bought on Amazon

A few changes are made to the return policy of Amazon - one of the commonly used online shopping platform. According to Amazon’s revised policies, there will be no option to receive refund for items like laptops, PCs, cameras, tablets, and a few more items in case of any damage or defect in the product received. Instead, the user can only claim for replacement. This change is applicable only to Amazon fulfilled products; rest of the sellers can decide on their deals as per their terms.
 
The Amazon return page adds that any mobile phone, tablet, desktop, monitors, cameras, laptops, camera lens, etc bought on the platform will not be refunded and only replacement will be applicable. In case if the user receives damaged or defective product in the aforementioned list that is fulfilled by Amazon, the buyer will be given with a free replacement by the seller, complying with Amazon policies. Furthermore, issues with such products should be brought to the notice of Amazon within a period of 10 days from the date of delivery.
 
It is also to be noted that Amazon had recently done a few changes to its return policies which stated that mobile phones are not eligible for refund and that only a replacement can be given.
 
So far, there is no official reasoning given to the change in policy. According to unnamed sources with Amazon, this change in return policy is done in order to prevent shoppers from taking advantage of the lenient policies that asks no questions to its buyers. Amazon is not just the only eCommerce site to implement this; Flipkart did a similar revision recently too.
