Does taking saffron help the pregnant in the birth of a fair-complexion child?

One age-old belief shared among almost every country in the world over the last 4000 years is that the pregnant women who regularly take saffron mixed in boiled milk will give birth to a child with fair complexion.

The stem and the stigmas of the flower of the plant Saffron Crocus are separated, dried in the sun and powdered to make saffron.

If you ask whether it is true that taking this with boiled milk will help in the birth of a fair-complexioned child, the answer is that there is not a grain of truth here.

This has not been proven medically. Saffron does not have a role in this matter.

However, the fact is the saffron gives many other positive benefits to the pregnant women. According to tradition, chewing saffron along with betel leaves or taking it in boiled milk will help in the birth of a beautiful child without too much labour pain. This practice reduce the pains encountered in the menstruation periods.

It also strengthens the heart. Even the doctors certify that healthy children will be born to the pregnant women who took saffron regularly.Saffron has a sour property. This is good for digestion.

It is ok to add a little saffron after preparing a variety of dishes.It adds flavour as well as taste.It controls other complaints like cold, cough, cancer, eye defects, etc.

The pregnant women can take saffron from the 5th month of pregnancy till the 9th month. The blood gets purified. They can continue taking saffron, even after delivery.This prevents anaemia. It increases appetite. However, saffron has to be taken only in limited quantities.

Dropping 4 or 5 saffrons in warm water, it dissolves in the water and turns it into a golden colour with a pleasant smell. If the colour change continues for 24 hours, then the saffron used is genuine. If there is no pleasant smell after dropping it in warm water and the colour change stops after some time, then the saffron is a duplicate.
