A shocking report: even 106 percent rain will not remove shortage of drinking water

A shocking news report reveals that even if there is 106 percent rain in the monsoon season, it will not help meet the drinking water shortage.
The India Meteorological Department has informed that there may be 106 percent in June during the monsoon season.
On this news, Water Aid India, which functions from London, has informed that sufficient or excess monsoon rain will not help in overcoming drinking water shortage.
As monsoon failed in the last 2 years, the groundwater level has gone down considerably. So, the Head of Water Aid India, Nithya Jacob informed that even if there is 106 percent rainfall as forecast by IMD, the drinking water shortage cannot be overcome.
Most of the rivers and dams in the country have dried up. The Central Water Board has informed the that most riverbeds have dried up by 75 percent.
The ultra-scorching summer in 2015 and the failure of monsoon rains have greatly affected the ground water levels. It has further deteriorated by the hotter summer this year.
