BSNL has absorbed 13.93 lakh subscribers to surge its base to 8.48 crore. Over 29 lakh subscribers are added to Bharti Airtel and has strengthened its base to 24.86 crore during the end of February month. On the other hand, over 20.34 lakh users are added to Vodafone and has increased its base to 19.67 crore.

Speaking about this achievement by BSNL, the Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told PTI that this has left BSNL with immense satisfaction for having overtaken all the private telecommunication players. This is a clear indication that hard work, strict monitoring and complete dedication at political level can fight the other players.

There was 1.67 percent growth in BSNL in February. This is double that of the industry growth rate, claims a report by BSNL quoting Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.

BSNL adds that its units have taken best efforts to obtain this result.

Speaking about this, the director of BSNL board R K Mittal said BSNL`s MNP (port in or port out ratio) has turned positive in FY 2015-16 which means the total number of customers joining BSNL is more than those who leave the operator. We are very thankful to all our customers for believing in us. We stick on to providing the best service to all our customers, he added.
